Place Name: First Place Contestant Name: Bristol Now Entry Title: General Makeup Entry Credit: Chelsea Gillenwater Judge Comment: Makes clear use of dominant art with a powerful headline to key readers to what's important. Art selection is solid and works well with good dimension and proportions. Has a style and sticks to it.
Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: The Breeze Entry Title: The Breeze Design Entry Credit: Staff Judge Comment: The Breeze had some of the best individual pages along all the entries but also took some risks that didn't pan out as well in print and we'll hope the students learned lessons on those. Some of the best typography and the other way too, but a solid second place for specialty pages and packaging of the content.

Competition Comment: Several good publications competing in this category and none of them on the same paper size or style with three different tab approaches a slim broad and a wide broadsheet. In the end Bristol Now played to the strengths of its paper size just a bit better than the other pubs played to the advantages their own size offered.
