The only disturbing part of the image is the gentleman pointing to one of the patches, which looks just a little TOO posed.
Place Name: Third Place Contestant Name: Fauquier Now Entry Title: First Day of School in Fauquier Entry Credit: Grace Schumacher Judge Comment: A group of youngsters with backpacks being led down a sidewalk by a teacher. Nice image, but could be stronger. The lens focus is on the last child, but we only see the back side of the kids. Meanwhile, the teacher is looking back over her shoulder and needs to be where the focus is; she's out of focus.
Competition Comment: First place gave reader lots to look at. Second was strong, but had a strong posed look. Third could have won if lens focus had been on the teacher.
