  • Competition Comment: The editorial writers at these newspapers obviously have a good grasp of what's going on in their communities. They address issues that are important to their readers and do so in clear ways, without verbose language that some folks use to show off their vocabulary. One gets the idea these are serious folks looking out for the interests of their communities. Not hyperbole whatsoever to say this is one of the strongest newspaper editorial contests this judge has ever seen. Well done.
