Critical Writing ( Non-Daily Group 3,Non-Daily Group 4)Back
Place Name: First Place Contestant Name: C-VILLE Weekly Entry Title: Shutter to think; Pure wonder; Elements together Entry Credit: Sarah Sargent Judge Comment: After reading these three entries, I want to view these exhibits. All are thorough, especially when techniques are described. Plus, the short headlines, like "Shutter to think" caught my attention and made me curious. Strong writing.
Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: The Cavalier Daily Entry Title: "Asteroid City," "Dear Jack, Dear Louise," and "“Their World As Big As They Made It: Looking Back at the Harlem Renaissance” Entry Credit: Delaney Hammond Judge Comment: The critique of the play is excellent. Well written examples. Personally, I think there could be more of a critique for the first and third example.
Place Name: Third Place Contestant Name: The Virginia Gazette Entry Title: Virginia Civil Rights hero, England's royals, Revolutionary Roads Entry Credit: Wilford Kale Judge Comment: Reviews are well written and could use more of a stronger opinion. I get a true sense in the "Revolutionary Road" example.
