  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: Richmond Magazine
    Entry Title: Sourcebook 2022
Entry Credit: Justin Vaughan, Rachel Lee, Heather Palmateer, Phong Nyugen, Sarah Barton
Judge Comment: This was the boldest design choice and pulled it off remarkably well. The average reader may not have recognized what was being done, but would appreciate the style even not knowing why it was easy to read and follow. The writing was concise and similar in style writer to writer to provide a uniform feel. While not the meatiest offering it was still a full meal.
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: Virginia Business Magazine
Entry Title: M06 - Virginia Business - Virginia Maritime Guide
Entry Credit: Richard Foster, Kate Andrews, Joel Smith
Judge Comment: Great writing and a solid design that leaves the reader feeling informed and aware. Solid entry points and guidance lets it provide the professional, business feel it is aiming for in concept.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: Suffolk Living
    Entry Title: Amazon
Entry Credit: Troy Cooper, James Robinson, Jimmy LaRoue, Faith Redd, Greg Goldberg
Judge Comment: Of all the "Amazon is coming here" packages that have come across the desk in recent years, this was the most comprehensive without feeling weighted down.
  • Place Name: Alternate Winner
    Contestant Name: Richmond Magazine
Entry Title: Best & Worst 2022
Entry Credit: Justin Vaughan, Rachel Lee, Heather Palmateer, Phong Nyugen, Sarah Barton

  • Competition Comment: This was a very deep and talented category with no drop offs in the bunch. Every entrant in this category had a special edition that doesn't require a ribbon to be proud of the end result they delivered to their readers.
