Judge Comment: A interesting mix of photos captured different aspects of the storm. The lightning sets the scene in a powerful way. The leaves plastered to the car was a surprising and effective detail. A nice job of framing and composing images throughout the essay, without repeating yourself.

Judge Comment: a nice use of light and framing in many of the images. The best moments came from the ball field - the kids on the dugout is very nice. But it was interesting to see the players away from the stadium as well.

Judge Comment: The mix of angles and compositions of the statues as they were removed kept the story fresh. The worker in orange with the blue straps around the statue is particularly striking. The hug photo was a bit disappointing. it would have helped the story to have a stronger image that captured the emotions of the moment.
